Silk Rug Cleaning in Manhattan.
Manhattan is silk-rug country. Hereke pieces from Turkey in primary bedrooms on the Upper East Side. Qum silk Persians in formal libraries on Park and Fifth. Antique Chinese silk on Tribeca loft floors. The finest silk Persians sometimes carry more than a thousand knots per square inch — filaments microns thick, woven on a silk foundation, dyed with the slowest hand. They are the most delicate hand-knotted rugs in the world.
Silk is washed alone — never alongside wool, never in a batch, never on a machine. Cooler water than wool requires, soap pH calibrated to silk fiber, contact time shorter, drying slower and at controlled temperature. Every silk we accept from a Manhattan address is dye-tested before water touches it and dried flat on slatted frames. The same artisans who collect the rug are the ones who hand-finish it and return it to the same room.

How a silk rug moves through our atelier.
Ten to twenty-one days, calibrated to the age and origin of your silk piece.
We collect from Manhattan.
Complimentary pickup from Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Tribeca, West Village, SoHo, Lenox Hill, and Midtown East. We coordinate with doormen and building staff and wrap your silk rug inside the apartment — pre-war classic six, primary bedroom, formal study.
Dye-tested, washed alone.
Silk is the most delicate of all hand-knotted fibers. Every color is dye-tested before water touches the rug. Hereke, Qum, Persian silk, antique Chinese silk — each piece is washed individually with pH-balanced soap and cooler, temperature-controlled water. Never alongside wool. Never on a machine.
Dried flat, returned home.
Silk dries on slatted frames at controlled temperature — never tumbled, never hung, never under direct heat. Hand-finished, wrapped, and returned to your Manhattan address in better condition than the day it left.
