Meet the Cohen family — master rug artisans across the Northeast.
For more than a decade, the Cohen family has hand-washed and restored the rugs that mean most to the families we work with. Four ateliers across the Northeast — Westchester, Greenwich, Short Hills, Ithaca — one family. Every rug is inspected and hand-washed personally, by name, by the artisans who collect it. Antique oriental, Persian, silk, fine wool. Complimentary pickup across Manhattan, the Hamptons, Westchester County, Greenwich, and Stamford.
A great rug is not a floor covering. It is a piece of weaving that has outlived generations — and will outlive us, if it is cared for by hand.

One family. Every rug. By hand.
Horizon was founded by the Cohen family more than a decade ago, after generations of work with antique oriental and Persian rugs. What began as one workshop has grown into four ateliers across the Northeast — one family, one method, one standard.
Every rug brought into our atelier is inspected and hand-washed personally by a member of the family. The master artisan reads each piece by hand — fiber, foundation, dyes, prior repairs — before any water touches it. Restoration is done on our bench, by hand, never sent out. The same artisan who picks your rug up is the one who hand-washes it and returns it to your home.
From our ateliers we serve the families of Manhattan, the Hamptons, Westchester County, Greenwich, Stamford, Short Hills, and the Finger Lakes — quietly, by appointment, in better condition than the day it left.
One family, four ateliers.
Every atelier hand-washes on its own dedicated floor. Same family, same method, same standard — in the town nearest you.

Letters from across the Northeast.
A few of the rugs we've cared for — and the families who trusted us with them.
“They returned an heirloom Tabriz — the colors look exactly as my grandmother described them.”
“A 1920s Heriz I thought was beyond saving came back better than the day my parents bought it.”
“Our clients trust us with eight-figure homes. Horizon is the only atelier I send their rugs to.”
