Silk loses sheen the moment it touches the wrong soap or the wrong water temperature. It crushes if dried under tension. It bleeds dyes if rinsed too quickly. None of that happens at our atelier. Each silk rug is washed alone, dried flat on padded slatted frames, groomed by hand. The master artisan personally writes the wash plan and supervises every step.

We collect your silk rug from your Greenwich address — Backcountry, Belle Haven, Cos Cob, Old Greenwich, Riverside — and bring it to our atelier on its own. Silk rugs are never transported alongside wool. Every fold is wrapped to prevent crush marks.
Washed alone, by hand.
Hereke, Qum, Persian silk, antique Chinese silk — each piece is dye-tested, then hand-washed individually with cooler water, gentler soap, and longer contact time. Never alongside wool, never on a machine, never in bulk.
Slow flat drying + return.
Silk is dried flat on padded slatted frames, never hung, never tumbled. The pile is groomed by hand and the rug is returned to your Greenwich home wrapped, in better condition than the day it left.
