Hand-washed antique oriental, Persian, and silk rugs — pickup across New Canaan.
For more than a decade, the Cohen family has cared for the rugs of New Canaan — the historic village, Main Street, Smith Ridge, and the mid-century modern estates that built the town's reputation. Antique Persians, antique Aubusson, oriental silks, and the designer modern pieces commissioned for glass-walled rooms. Complimentary pickup, hand-washed in our atelier, returned in better condition than the day it left.
Rug care across New Canaan.
New Canaan holds more architectural history per square mile than almost any town in the Northeast. The historic village around the green keeps Colonial and Federal houses with antique Persians passed down through three or four generations. North along Smith Ridge and Oenoke Ridge, the great Tudor and stone estates hold formal libraries with antique Aubusson and oriental silk. And inland, the mid-century modern country that Philip Johnson and the Harvard Five built — the glass houses with custom designer pieces specified to anchor open-plan floors — runs from Ponus Ridge through the Frogtown neighborhoods.
We see all of it. Heirloom Persians in the village Colonials, formal Aubusson on the estate-house floors, oriental silks in primary bedrooms, and the modern designer commissions for the glass houses. Each one is hand-washed in our Greenwich atelier on the dedicated floor, by the same artisans, with the same care, no matter the address.
