Hand-washed antique oriental, Persian, and silk rugs — pickup across the Upper East Side.
For more than a decade, the Cohen family has cared for the rugs of Upper East Side — antique oriental, Persian, silk, fine wool. We pick up across Park Avenue, Madison Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Lenox Hill, Carnegie Hill, and the blocks running past the Met and the Frick, hand-wash by appointment in our Westchester atelier, and return every rug in better condition than the day it left.
What rugs we collect from Upper East Side.
Park Avenue. Madison. Fifth. The pre-war co-ops between the Met and the Frick.
The Upper East Side keeps the deepest concentration of antique oriental and Persian rugs in Manhattan — pieces that came through estate sales, gallery purchases, decades of decorator commissions. Most of what we collect here is heirloom-grade and decades old, sometimes a century or more. Carnegie Hill drawing rooms, Park Avenue dining rooms, Lenox Hill libraries — they tend to hold antique Tabriz, antique Kashan, antique Aubusson, antique Chinese silk, and the occasional designer-curated modern piece sitting beside them.
Every rug we pick up from a UES address is wrapped at the door, transported by our own team to the Westchester atelier in our own truck, and hand-washed on our dedicated floor. Never machine-cleaned, never sent off-site. The pieces that live in these homes deserve the slow, hand-controlled wash that built their reputation in the first place.
