Hand-washed antique oriental, Persian, and silk rugs — pickup across Midtown East.
For more than a decade, the Cohen family has cared for the rugs of Midtown East — antique oriental, Persian, silk, fine wool. We pick up across Sutton Place, Beekman Place, Turtle Bay, Tudor City, and the pre-war and post-war co-ops along the East River from East 42nd through East 59th, hand-wash by appointment in our Westchester atelier, and return every rug in better condition than the day it left.
What rugs we collect from Midtown East.
Sutton Place. Beekman. Turtle Bay. Tudor City. The pre-war co-ops looking onto the East River and the consular townhouses tucked behind them.
Midtown East splits between two collections. The first is the antique-heavy inventory of the Sutton and Beekman pre-war co-ops — antique Persians, antique oriental silks, family-heirloom wool — and the consular and diplomatic residences in Turtle Bay, which hold some of the most unusual pieces in Manhattan. The second is the modern designer-curated work in the newer post-war and contemporary buildings along First and Second Avenues. The mix is broader than Lenox Hill, but the antique floor is just as deep.
Every rug we pick up from a Midtown East address is wrapped at the door, walked out via the service elevator, and driven directly to the Westchester atelier in our own truck. There it is inspected, dye-tested, and hand-washed on the dedicated floor by our master artisans. Never machine-cleaned. Never sent off-site. The pieces in Sutton, Beekman, and Turtle Bay rooms have lived through decades — they deserve the wash that respects what they've already survived.
