Hand-washed antique oriental, Persian, and silk rugs — pickup across Greenwich Village.
For more than a decade, the Cohen family has cared for the rugs of Greenwich Village — antique oriental, Persian, silk, fine wool. We pick up across Greenwich Avenue, Washington Square Park, the NYU campus, the historic brownstones along MacDougal, Sullivan, and West 4th, and the side streets running between Fifth Avenue and Sixth, hand-wash by appointment in our Westchester atelier, and return every rug in better condition than the day it left.
This page covers Greenwich Village in Manhattan — distinct from our Connecticut atelier in Greenwich, CT. Both are served by the same Cohen family, the same hand-wash, and the same complimentary pickup.
What rugs we collect from Greenwich Village.
Washington Square. Greenwich Avenue. The brownstones on MacDougal, Sullivan, and West Fourth. The blocks that have held the same families since before there was a Manhattan skyline.
Greenwich Village is one of Manhattan's deepest antique-rug zones. The brownstones here have been continuously occupied for a century and a half, and the rugs we collect tend to reflect that — antique Persians passed through three generations, antique oriental silks from estate consolidations, French Aubussons commissioned in the 1920s and never replaced. We also see a steady stream of modern designer pieces in the buildings around Fifth Avenue and the Mews. NYU faculty residences and the historic brownstones on West 11th and West 12th run especially heavy on heirloom inventory.
Every rug we collect from a Greenwich Village address is wrapped at the door, walked out by hand or freight depending on the building, and driven directly to the Westchester atelier in our own truck. There it is inspected, dye-tested, and hand-washed on the dedicated floor by our master artisans. Never machine-cleaned. Never sent off-site. The pieces in these rooms have outlasted the city around them — they deserve the wash that built that longevity in the first place.

We come to you.
Arrange a complimentary pickup by phone or through the form. We schedule a time that suits the building — Greenwich Village brownstones and Fifth Avenue co-ops have very different access patterns — wrap your rug at the door, and transport it to the Westchester atelier in our own truck. Pickup across Greenwich Village is complimentary and never a third-party courier.
